#HEALTHTALK: PEPTIC
ULCER
Its another week of health talk with Dr. Laura John,
C.E.O of Herbal Fountains as she enlighten us more Peptic Ulcer, a common
ailment most people treat lightly yet dangerous.
This is
caused by stomach acid eating away the lining of the stomach. Where this peptic
ulcer does affects? It affects the Lower Oesophagus, Stomach and Duodenum
Conventional
drugs can close the lower Oesophageal sphincter and reduce the stomach acid but
cannot eradicate the bacterial that causes Ulcer which is known as Helicobacter
Pylori however research has shown that there are natural treatment can prevent
and also control this condition.
As a
result of the eating away of the stomach lining, small open sore occurs inside
the intestine which may cause severe gastric distress or bleeding, other causes
associated with this condition are the intake of medications that can irritates
the stomach and also increases the risk of ulcer ,some of these medications
should be avoided. Research confirms the genesis of ulcer from the bacteria called
H-Pylori which were found in most patients suffers from stomach ulcer
As funny
as it may seem, Diet can also induce ulcer too especially foods that are too
spicy, alcohol, nicotine, stress also plays a role in producing excess stomach
acids and contrary to past belief, Milk can also be a contributing factor.
Milk was
considered to be an excellent intake for ulcer patients but research says the
only good thing you can do for yourself if suffering from ulcer is to avoid
Milk but take in more of Honey, Shawsorp, unripe plantain, cabbage, cucumber,
banana etc. these fruits promotes strong stomach lining by producing a mucous
substance that coats the stomach and gives it protection against acids. Food
rich in fibre adds protection too.
Use of
calcium antacids should be avoided and also over counter drugs, these have
never been proven to heal, prevent or control ulcer.
#Fact: As
……. Can also leads to death if not properly diagnosed
and treated
